Cook Children’s Medical Center co-founded the Immunization Collaboration of Tarrant County in 1991 so that more children could get immunizations and help improve the immunization rate locally.

The partners that co-founded this project with Cook Children’s include the Junior Leagues of Fort Worth and Arlington and the Fort Worth and Tarrant County Health Departments. The collaboration encourages each family to create a “home” for their children’s medical care to help keep immunizations on schedule and receive routine well-child care. The collaboration sponsors low-cost immunization drives in Tarrant County and focuses on raising the immunization rate for children ages 0-2 years. More than 72,000 children have been vaccinated through low or no cost immunizations at these events.
