Our Team

A dedicated team from Cook Children's spearheaded the charge on CCHAPS, now The Center for Children's Health, project. The group included staff from System Planning, Community Health Outreach, Information Services, Decision Support and Corporate and Community Affairs.

Senior Vice President, System Planning: Larry Tubb

Larry Tubb
Senior Vice President, System Planning, Cook Children's
Tubb is responsible for decision support analytics and strategic planning for Cook Children's Health Care System, a unique integrated pediatric health care network. With more than 25 years of service to Cook Children's, he was the founding president of Cook Children's Home Health. He also founded the Cook Children's Grants and Research department, is a past chair of Cook Children's Institutional Review Board and is actively leading system-wide initiatives.

Director of Regional Services and Community Measures: Marilyn Nappier

Marilyn Nappier, MSSW
Director of Regional Services and Community Measures, Cook Children's
Nappier provides direction for the Regional Outreach Services team, which relies on CCHAPS data to guide its county-level work. She brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience regarding community work to the position, including strategic planning, program evaluation, program development and program implementation.


Jackie Meeks, Dr.PH , MBA
Director, Community Health Research, Center for Children's Health, Cook Children's
Meeks is responsible for the research agenda of the Center for Children's Health. Using the data from the CCHAPS surveys, as well as other local and national data sets, the research from the Center will help inform the region Cook Children's serves, focus priorities, support the community coalitions and guide policy formation in regard to community child health and wellness.

Meeks is a former county health director, managed care quality director and educator. She is current member of the American Public Health Association and the National Association of County and City Health Officials.


Jose Gonzalez, M.D.
Medical Director, Cook Children's Health Plan and The Center for Children's Health
Gonzalez provides medical and scientific leadership and consultation for all aspects of children's community health issues. He also serves as the medical liaison with physicians, system executives and members of the community working to develop and execute programmatic initiatives, goals, policies and procedures to promote and improve the health of children.

Gonzalez is a former Pediatric Endocrinologist, Assistant Professor and Director of the UTHSC-Southwestern pediatric endocrinology outpatient clinic, Director of Pediatric Endocrinology and Pediatric Medical Education at Scott & White Hospital/Texas A&M College of Medicine. More recently, he has served as Vice-Chair for Pediatric Medical Education at UTMB-Galveston and Medical Director for the Texas Medicaid-CHIP program where he oversaw the development and implementation of clinical policies for over four million patients.
